Welcome
Residence Hall programming at the College of Charleston is congruent with the mission of the Department of Residence Life and Housing, and
subsequently, the overall mission of the College. Information about the various staff members is available on our
department page and our staff page.
Residents have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of residence hall, community service, social, developmental and educational programs. During the school year the Resident Assistants will follow the STARS programming model. This model, developed by the Residential Living Leadership Team, is based on teaching students the concepts of positive citizenship.
In addition, the Department of Residence Life and Housing uses a three tier approach to programming.
The Department of Residence Life and Housing believes that there is "something for everyone" in respect to learning outside the classroom.

In addition, the Department of Residence Life and Housing uses a three tier approach to programming.
- The first level is the RA program, sponsored for the residents of a particular floor. This program will appeal to students who are interested in programming on a small scale with a more intimate environment.
- The next level is the RHD program, which is sponsored for an entire residence hall. Programs at this level will appeal to students who are interested in attending programs with a slightly larger attendance and who are interested in creating community in their residence hall.
- The last level of programming is the broadest. Programs on this level are sponsored for all residents, campus-wide. This kind of program will appeal to students who are interested in a major Residence Life activity.
