City Bus Service

CARTA (Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority) is the city bus service. DASH (Downtown Area Shuttle) and Tel-A-Ride are other CARTA services. CARTA is bicycle friendly. Service to/from Charleston International Airport is available. Call (843) 724-7420 or visit www.ridecarta.com for schedule and fare information.

College of Charleston students, faculty, and staff ride for free on all CARTA routes. Stop by Cougar Card Services at 162 Calhoun Street in Berry Hall with your Cougar Card and a bus pass will be issued. Contact Cougar Card Services (843) 953-1100 or visit for additional information.

Geography
The Charleston peninsula is basically divided into three sections: Downtown, Northwest and East. The College of Charleston is located in downtown Charleston.
