College Lodge is arranged with all bedrooms opening to outside corridors. Walls throughout the bedroom and bathroom are bright white. Floor tile is white with bands of colored tile as accents. Bedroom lighting is adequate, but residents may wish to bring desk lights if desired. Please note that halogen lamps are not allowed. Each bedroom has a microwave and mini-refrigerator that is to be shared by both residents of the room. Extra microwaves and/or mini-refrigerators brought by students are not allowed. Furnishings for each resident include a wardrobe cabinet, dresser, bed and mattress, and a desk with a desk chair all with a maple wood finish. Beds are 36" W x 80" L, have wooden frames, and are bunked. Please note that these beds are not loftable and the mattresses accept only "long" sheets. Wardrobe cabinets are 30" W x 24" D x 72" H and have a bar for hanging clothes. Dressers are approximately 36" W x 18" D x 30" H and have three drawers. Desks are 36" W x 24" D x 30" H with a slide-out drawer for a keyboard and mouse, a reference shelf, a drawer, and two shelves. Desk chairs are plastic. Each room is furnished with two padded side chairs. Each bedroom has two windows that cover the entrance wall in its entirety. Windows are covered with white 1" blinds. As a policy, we only allow tension rods on windows, but because of the size of the blinds and the layout of the windows, there will not be room for a tension rod. The only way to do a window treatment would be to creatively drape fabric off of the valance of the blinds. The typical bathroom is shared with one other person, but is compartmentalized with a vanity area containing one sink and a second area for the toilet and tub/shower combination. The vanity has no drawer space and limited cabinet space for toiletry items. For added storage space, some creative residents have purchased over-toilet cabinets that are floor supported via poles (wall attachment isn't allowed). Each bathroom has a towel bar as well as the tub/shower rod that is 60" wide. New white vinyl shower curtains are placed in the bathrooms each year. Students can dress up the space by adding a decorative curtain to the front if desired. Features for Fall 2004
